On the eve of a Parliamentary meeting to review the President’s Constitutional reservations, a group of leading copyright and constitutional academics have identified technical changes to meet all of the President’s concerns.

Prof Stephen de la Harpe, passed away

Prof Stephen de la Harpe, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Law, North-West University passed away on thursday, 18 February 2021. He has been in the ICU for the last six weeks.

The Faculty wants to convey its sincerest condolences to his wife, Hanri, their daughters, Kara, Shani, Lana and Janke, friends and colleagues. We want to thank them for sharing their husband and father with the Faculty these past few years.

Prof Lourens du Plessis, a gentle intellectual giant, passed away on Saterday 6 February 2021

Prof Lourens du Plessis, was one of the great minds of this country. His intellectual ability surpassed all of those around him, yet he was known for his gentleness and humility. He was never afraid to say what he thinks and his criticism of the former government more than once brought him and his family into big trouble. It was, however, difficult to refute any of his arguments, as they were based on fact and intellectual rigour.

The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) and the South African Research Chair in Cities, Law and Environmental Sustainability (SARChI CLES) invites applications
