Phakisho Jerry Mello is a lecturer at North-West University, Faculty of Law. He completed his LLB at Northwest University (2021). He also completed his LLM in Labour Law Northwest University (2023). He is currently enrolled as a Doctoral student (LLD) at Northwest University since 2024.  During his term as a temporary lecturer and academic assistant in the NWU  faculty of law, he managed to publish two scholarly journal articles in 2023 and 2024.
He was selected as an expert Speaker at the South African Society for Labour Law (SASLAW) 2024 Annual National Conference. He also serves as a member of South African Society for Labour Law. He won the 2024 Juta & Company Ltd Labour Law library Award Winner at the SASLAW conference. He specializes in the legal academic field of Labour Law, human rights law and social security law
